Living in Victoria

Beautiful – yes, and Victoria is smart too, providing diverse options for post secondary education. The University of Victoria, Royal Roads University, and Camosun College head a long list of reputable institutions. There is a progressive public school system incorporating high level athletic programs, francophone and French immersion studies, as well as several excellent private schools such as St. Margaret’s, St. Michaels, Brentwood College and Glenlyon-Norfolk.

Once you’re done with school, you’ll probably need a job, and you’ll discover Victoria offers a wide range of opportunities. We boast one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, with provincial and federal government offices, a developing technology sector, a nearby military base (CFB Esquimalt), and diverse business opportunities. Of course, there are vast prospects for employment relating to the tourist trade!

Another piece of the puzzle would have to be housing. You will find Victoria real estate values quite reasonable compared to other cities with the same advantages as are offered here. The Greater Victoria region , all of which is within a comfortable commute, presents even more options, and in many cases excellent value in home prices. There is sure to be something that will suit your needs.

There are a lot of good reasons to move to Victoria, these are but a few –more to follow….
