Pumpkinfest at Galey Farms

If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kids (or grandkids) in October, you should check out Pumpkinfest at Galey Farms; running each weekend from now until the end of the month, this event offers family friendly entertainment for people who are living in Victoria.

Galey Farms is a family-run business dating back to the 1930’s, when Don Galey bought 50 acres of land in Cordova bay to establish a dairy farm.  Now based in the beautiful Blenkinsop valley, Galey Farms grows fresh produce at several locations to nourish Victoria residents.

As well as feeding the locals, Galey Farms entertains us!  Bring the kids down to the farm for Pumpkinfest and enjoy live entertainment, kids’ games, face painting, old fashioned hay rides, train rides, a corn maze, playground, petting farm, children’s haunted house, fantastic seasonal displays and of course u-pick pumpkins!  This year there will be a new attraction – a Cow Train!

Pumpkinfest is a ton of fun and suitable for all ages. If you’re up for something a little spookier, the Festival of Fear begins October 17th; this well established Halloween event is a must-see for many Victorians.  The corn maze becomes the cornfield of horror and everything skews just a little to the creepy side.  The truly brave can visit Carnevil – a 6,000 square foot haunted house, it’s rated PG13 so don’t take the little ones in!  For those who aren’t as brave as they thought they were, Carnevil provides 3 chicken exits.

While you’re at Galey Farms you can pick up some fantastic fresh local produce.  If you’re having a crowd over for Thanksgiving dinner this weekend you will probably need to stock up!
