I’m not claiming to be a professional restaurant critic, but I like to eat and one of the many benefits of living in Victoria is our plethora of fantastic restaurants. Because our fair city is a popular tourist destination there are so many diverse eateries that you could avoid cooking altogether and never get bored dining your way across Victoria BC.
So for all you folks who are new to town or even just considering moving to Victoria, here is an introduction to some of my favourite places to eat, starting with:
The Blue Crab Bar and Grill
You’ll find the Blue Crab in the Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel. The views of Victoria’s inner harbour offer a splendid backdrop, perfect for date night! Their focus is on fresh seafood, and the menu offers plenty of other options if fish is not your dish. They are open for breakfast too; my fave plate is the Crab Eggs Benedict – scrumptious!
The knowledgeable people who work at the Blue Crab are always friendly and attentive without hovering and they are happy to suggest wine pairings to suit your menu choices or cater to special dietary requirements. This is a popular restaurant so reservations are a good idea, especially on weekends and holidays.
I enjoy dining out at the Blue Crab Bar and Grill, but don’t just take my word for it – check out the reviews at OpenTable, Urban Spoon or TripAdvisor.
