Central Saanich

Perhaps country life is not your thing, or at least not too country! Brentwood Bay is a beautiful village nestled on the western slopes of the Saanich Inlet. Many homes here have lovely views of the water and beyond that the mountains across which the Malahat Drive climbs. At night you can see distant headlights of cars travelling either north or south on the Island Highway. There are elementary, middle and high schools nearby, a library, restaurants and shopping within the village.

For anything you can’t find in the village, Victoria is just a short drive south on the Pat Bay highway. And if you need to get away, you’re close to the Brentwood Bay – Mill Bay Ferry, the Victoria International Airport, and the Schwartz Bay Ferry Terminal.

Homes range from townhomes, patio homes, to detached duplex and single family dwellings. There are even a few small acreages and market gardens practically right in town – walk to the farmer for your fresh produce!

The world famous Butchart Gardens is so close to Brentwood Bay, you might want to get a seasons pass. It’s certainly worth checking out the gardens throughout the year, they put a lot of effort into changing up the displays to keep things interesting. There’s also the Brentwood Bay Festival, held each year in early June, or Music-in-the-park, which runs Wednesday evenings in July and August at Pioneer Park.

Saanichton is the other residential community in this municipality. It lies just west of the Pat Bay Hwy at the junction of Mt. Newton X Rd and East Saanich Rd, surrounded by farms, including several fields which recently have been used for growing daffodils for the cut flower trade – gorgeous in the spring! There are several historical sites in and around Saanichton which have been preserved beautifully. The Saanich Peninsula Hospital is also located here. There are retail shops, offices and the historic watering hole the Prairie Inn within the village.

Central Saanich offers many choices for its residents, whether you’re looking for that country life or prefer small town bliss, and access to the city is easy for all. It’s a great place to live!
