It’s Bike to Work Week in Victoria BC and we’ve been blessed with a mild but moist weather forecast for much of this week. Not that will stop many of Victoria’s intrepid cyclists, we have raingear and we know how to use it!
Bike to Work BC is a registered non-profit society with a mission to “encourage more people in all BC communities to commute by bicycle through Bike to Work initiatives. We will secure and share resources and best practices that will stimulate growth in commuter cycling.”
Visit Bike to Work Victoria for more information including schedules and maps of the celebration stations where you can meet up with other enthusiastic riders, refuel with hot coffee and snacks, and enter to win prizes. You can also get a bike checkup from the bike techs of several local bike shops.
Over 500 teams registered for this years’ BTWW, and these groups are eligible to win $30,000 in prizes! Don’t worry if you haven’t officially registered your team with Bike to Work Victoria – the whole point is to encourage people to leave their cars at home and get some exercise and fresh air on their daily commute – so just get out there and do it!
