Intrepid Theatre is a not for profit entertainment organization in Victoria BC which produces the annual Fringe Festival and Uno Fest, North America’s longest-running solo performance festival, as well as a calendar chock full of international theatre presentations and premieres for local independent theatre companies.

Victoria venues Metro Studio and Intrepid Theatre Club both play host to the festivals and presentations of Intrepid Theatre, and are also available for rent by other local and touring artists and companies.

The mandate of Intrepid Theatre is:  “to enhance the experience of live theatre in Victoria”.  And over the past twenty-five years they have accomplished just that, continually seeking unique entertainment that tests boundaries and encourages spirited dialogue among its patrons.

The genesis of the group is tied to the Fringe Festival, a wildly popular international event showcasing uncensored innovative theatre that always delights many and offends some.  Over the years the Fringe has grown exponentially, repeatedly shattering attendance records.

The solo performance festival, Uno Fest, has brought unique performances from across Canada and beyond.  In 2010 the festival featured a series of theatre workshops for both professional and developing artists along with other special events like a cabaret and costume party, Bringing Out Your Dead 3.

Intrepid Theatre has become one of Victoria’s most respected arts groups through their dedication to producing excellent alternative programming.  They are now celebrating 25 years of adventurous entertainment, courageous artists and thrill seeking audiences in Victoria BC.
