People who are looking to relocate to the Greater Victoria Area would be wise to take a good look at Langford. Changes in this community over the last decade or so have brought Langford out of the doldrums. Traffic woes have been smartly addressed, leading to easier access to Victoria and other western communities. Affordable land values and an amenable local government have led to a surge of development, both business and residential.

Almost anything a person or family needs can be found in or near Langford. There are several new retail centres offering all sorts of shopping – in fact Langford has become something of a shopping destination for the other western shore municipalities. No longer do people need to travel to Victoria to find what they need!

Residential development has kept pace as well; there are a number of projects underway or completed offering options that range from condos, townhomes, to multi-family and single family residences. One of the exciting things happening here is development geared toward sustainability, built to new environmentally sensitive standards and promoting social equity. As many people are now more thoughtful about how they live and how their lifestyle impacts our planet, it’s nice to see these principles being addressed at this level.

Langford is a community brimming with potential, blessed with a temperate climate, in one of the most beautiful regions of Canada. People who want to live where new development is encouraged to embrace an environmentally sustainable focus, and where social equity is a goal, will be happy here.

Victoria BC Realtor Heather Wilde was raised and educated in Winnipeg. After graduating from both the University of Winnipeg (Bachelor of Arts) and the University of Manitoba Faculty of Education she relocated to British Columbia in 1975. Her career in real estate has been successful due to her commitment to and genuine pleasure at helping families find homes and properties for sale in Victoria BC. Heather was licensed as a Realtor in 1976 and since then has worked hard to achieve a high standard of performance; consistently attaining a Victoria Real Estate Board MLS Gold Award. If you ask Heather, she will undoubtedly say that although it’s nice to be recognized in the industry through performance awards, what really drives her success is the relationships and friendships she forges with the families that she helps. Many of Heather’s former clients have become close friends, and many of her close friends have become clients. That says a lot about her dedication to providing professional service while maintaining a friendly rapport with clients. Heather loves to travel the world (preferrably on a cruise ship!) and also enjoys tennis and bridge during her spare time. As of January 2014, Heather has retired from her real estate career.
