Presently under construction, the E&N Rail Trail – Humpback Connector will provide cyclists and other users with an excellent commuter path connecting the municipalities of Victoria, Esquimalt, View Royal and Langford. This ambitious plan is yet another example of environmentally sound planning.
The existing E&N rail corridor offers a meandering route through diverse settings and connects with the already popular and well-used Galloping Goose Trail. When the trail is complete it will join the Trans Canada Trail near Humpback Road in Langford.
During construction, you can find updates and closure advisories here. At completion, the trail will stretch from the Johnson Street Bridge to Humpback Road, a distance of 17 kilometres.
This regional park will connect the communities through which it travels, allowing commuters an environmentally friendly option to driving to work, providing fresh air and exercise and saving them money too! No doubt the trail will also be enjoyed for recreational purposes as well. Initiatives like these are among the many things that make living in Victoria so awesome!
