For dining, shopping, or entertainment, residents typically head to nearby Sidney or cross the highway into the Swartz Bay neighbourhood. Proximity to the coastal community of Swartz Bay also makes Lands End ideal for boat owners, with several marinas—North Saanich Marina, Westport Marina, and Van Isle Marina—within just minutes.
Hiking at Horth Hill
The neighbourhood of Lands End is within close proximity to Horth Hill, a 36-hectare regional park that offers a great hiking trail network. Some of the oldest rock on the Island left behind by glaciers over 15,000 years ago, the park is characterized by its rock faces with grooves and shiny surfaces.
Hiking is the main attraction at Horth Hill. From the summit, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding Satellite Channel, Saanich Peninsula, and Gulf Islands. It’s also a nice place for bird watching, enjoying wildflowers, and even horseback riding.
