Luxury Victoria Neighbourhoods – Saxe Point

Saxe Point Park

Saxe Point is one of Victoria’s hidden gems of coastal luxury. Located at the southern tip of Esquimalt, just minutes from downtown Victoria, this exclusive neighbourhood combines elegance and convenience with breathtaking natural beauty. Tucked along the rocky shoreline, Saxe Point offers an enviable balance—close to the city’s cultural and commercial heart while immersed in classic West Coast serenity.

From Saxe Point Park and nearby Macaulay Point Park, residents enjoy sweeping ocean views framed by the stunning Olympic Mountains. Along the shoreline, you’ll find some of Victoria’s most exclusive oceanfront real estate, where luxury living is elevated by the the seascape and sunset views.

Saxe Point Park

Saxe Point Park is the highlight of the neighbourhood. It’s one of the most stunning beach parks in the city, attracting visitors and residents from all over. The park has a good-sized grass meadow, which is popular among dogs and kids, plus in the summertime it turns into a picnic and wedding hotspot. There’s also a secluded beach and a small trail system, along with washrooms, water fountains, and lots of picnic tables.

With the ocean crashing below and the mountains in the distance, Saxe Point Park really is one of the best spots in the city for sunset viewing. You’ll see locals climbing all over the rocks to take it all in.

Macaulay Point Park

Just a few minutes south from Saxe Point Park you’ll find Macaulay Point Park. Equally beautiful with the ocean views and stunning mountains in the background, Macaulay Point Park feels a little bit larger due to its rocky terrain and more extensive network of walking trails. At Flemming Beach inside the park, kids often swim here, as the water is sheltered and shallow.

Macaulay Point Park

Visiting Macaulay Point Park allows you to experience some of Victoria’s earliest military history. The park was the longest serving part of the Victoria-Esquimalt Coast Defence Fortification System, which was manned before 1878 before being declared obsolete in 1956. The concrete emplacements for guns still remain at Macaulay Point, which are pretty cool to see and explore.

Proximity to Amenities

One of the reasons Saxe Point is such a desirable place to live is the proximity to amenities and major centres, despite bordering the rugged coastline. Just blocks away is Esquimalt Road – the centre of Esquimalt. Here you’ll find everything from restaurants to grocery stores and small businesses. Just before Esquimalt Road, you’ll find Esquimalt Recreation Centre, a lacrosse box, Bullen Park (mainly for soccer and softball), and the Archie Browning Arena, home of the Victoria Cougars junior hockey team.

Saxe Point Pub

In 2024, Saxe Point Public House opened its doors on Esquimalt Road, bringing English-style pub flavour to Esquimalt and the Saxe Point neighbourhood. The interior is modern and tasteful, and the chefs use quality ingredients from local farmers and suppliers for a more elevated approach to traditional pub favourites.

Janevca Kitchen & Lounge is the hottest restaurant in the city, having been awarded Best New Restaurant by YAM Magazine in 2025. Chef Andrea Alridge is a former Top Chef Canada finalist and head chef at Vancouver’s Osteria Savio Volpe. The menu is inspired by both her Jamaican-Filipino heritage and her prowess in Italian fine dining. The wood fire grill is a main attraction, supplying diners with steak and salmon.
