Horth Hill Regional Park in Victoria BC

Horth Hill Regional Park was named for a pioneering family who settled in North Saanich back in 1860.  The park itself, established in 1966, is a 36 hectare hilltop park featuring a moderately difficult trail to the summit of Horth Hill where you can enjoy views of Satellite Channel, the Saanich Peninsula, and the Gulf Islands.

During spring the hilltop is awash in wildflowers blooming between the mature Garry Oak trees.  Further down you’ll encounter a forest of Douglas Fir, Bigleaf Maple and Western Red Cedar through which the trails wind.

If you live nearby and enjoy hiking these trails regularly, the Capital Regional District is seeking volunteers to help with opening or closing gates to help maintain park and neighbourhood safety.  If you’d like to get involved please click here for more information.

How to Get to Horth Hill Regional Park

Take the Pat Bay Highway from Victoria, and exit at Wain Road, crossing back over the highway to head west.  Turn right on Tatlow Road, which takes you to the park entrance (on the right). It takes about 35 minutes to get to Horth Hill from Victoria.  The park is open from sunrise to sunset every day.
