So now we know that Langford has tons of great shopping opportunities and homes of all sizes from modest to luxurious. What else does the community offer?
We don’t want to spend all our time shopping (well some of us anyway!). Living in Greater Victoria with this fabulous climate, we want to get outdoors and have some fun! If you like to golf, there are excellent courses in and near Langford. Perhaps fishing is your thing – Langford, Glen and Florence lakes all offer freshwater fishing, or cast a line in the ocean at Finlayson Arm, mmmm salmon!
Goldstream Park presents opportunities to witness spawning salmon in the fall, educational interpretive programs, camping and hiking trails galore! Mill Hill and Mt. Work parks also provide beautiful hikes, and the famous Galloping Goose Trail passes through Langford en route to Victoria or Sooke.
Langford and the other western shore municipalites manage several recreation facilities cooperatively, so you may visit and take part in programs offered at many different locations like the Juan de Fuca Rec Centre, Bear Mountain Arena, and Centennial Park Recreation Centre.
Visit Western Speedway to take in some exciting auto racing action, and while you’re there check out All Fun Recreation Park, they have a mini golf course, driving range, 2 go-kart tracks, batting cages, arcade, concession and gift shop. Catch some professional rodeo or the Fall Fair at the Luxton Fairgrounds.
These are some of the highlights of life in lovely Langford, a vibrant young community that although long established, is just beginning to realize its full potential.
