North Saanich
I don’t know who it was that claimed North Saanich was the best rural residential community to live in – but I’m pretty sure they live here! Of course every location has its boosters, and home is always the best place for some people, But I’ve gotta admit this is a pretty special community!
All of Greater Victoria is blessed with a climate unmatched in Canada, with very mild winters and warm dry summers that rarely get uncomfortably hot, and North Saanich is no exception. When you add to this the sheer beauty of the locale, from the seemingly endless shoreline to the gently rolling fields, to the deep green tree-covered hills, what a stunning place to call home!
The local government has had the foresite to preserve the rural atmosphere by limiting commercial development, and the residents of North Saanich like it that way. Sidney is a beautiful small town sitting pretty much in the middle of North Saanich, and it provides all the shopping or basic business services you could want. If you need more just hop on the Pat Bay Highway and head south to Victoria, one of the most beautiful small cities in the world.
Should you need to escape paradise, you’ll find the Victoria International Airport and the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal both right here in North Saanich. Though you might find that more often you’re at the airport or ferries collecting friends and relatives who are coming for a visit; because you’re living in North Saanich – the best rural residential community in Canada!
