They say Oak Bay has more millionaires per square kilometre than anywhere else in Canada, but what does that mean? City property values being what they are these days, there are lots of millionaires – everywhere! Oak Bay does have more than its share of beautiful homes though, and we have John Charles Olmstead to thank for that. When he designed the Uplands neighborhood in the early 1900’s I bet there were a bunch of people who thought that his wide curving streets and large properties were pretty strange. But his vision led to a development of uncommon beauty and luxury, and influenced the development and character of the entire area.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that Oak Bay is also an oceanside community with one of the mildest climates in Canada, and just a few blocks from one of the prettiest small cities in the world – Victoria. If you are in the market for a new home, close to the city and its amenities, but set apart in its own quiet haven, you should investigate Oak Bay.
