Mill Hill Regional Park in Victoria BC

,

One of our semi-secret treasures, Mill Hill Regional Park is an at-risk ecosystem that is relatively unknown.  Tucked away in the municipality of Langford, the park offers a moderate to challenging hike through coniferous forest to a Garry Oak and Arbutus woodland, culminating in a rocky outcropping from which you can gaze down on views of the Esquimalt harbour and Victoria.

If you’re looking for a longer hike, you can head down the east side of Mill Hill and connect with the Thetis Lake Park trail system.

How to Get to Mill Hill Regional Park

Take the Trans-Canada Highway from Victoria, and follow Exit 14 south to Langford. Turn left on Hoffman Avenue and right on Winster Road at the four-way stop. Take a left onto Atkins Avenue and follow for one kilometre, the park entrance will be on your left. It takes about 25 minutes driving time from Victoria.

Mill Hill Regional Park is undergoing a long-term project to restore its fragile Garry Oak meadow ecosystem and the CRD is looking for volunteers to help with this effort. To learn more or if you can help with this project, please visit the Mill Hill Garry Oak Ecosystem Restoration Project page.
