Track and Field in Victoria BC is getting under way! The season runs from mid April through July. During April, May and June the Vancouver Athletics Association (VIAA) clubs host seven track meets at different locations on Vancouver Island. Athletes, 9 years and older, compete against their peers in a wide range of events. Athletes may also travel to the mainland for competitions. In July, qualifying athletes compete at the BC and Canadian Championships.

Victoria Track and Field Club is a non-profit, competitive track and field club which has been operating in Victoria for over 50 years. The club is involved in training athletes, coaches and officials in the Greater Victoria area. Training sessions are held at the Oak Bay Secondary School track and field facility on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Peninsula Track and Field Club provides an opportunity for athletes from the Saanich Peninsula to participate in the sports of track and field and cross country running. The club’s emphasis is on personal development by athletes at all levels of ability. We encourage participation in club activities by athletes of all ages, 6 years and older. The club practices at the Blue Heron Track (by Parkland School). Some of the cross-country training is done at the Saanichton Fairgrounds and Centennial Park.
